Ruth Agnese
Board

Ruth A. Agnese, MAI, MRICS is President of Appraisers and Planners, Inc. a full service appraisal and real estate consulting firm based in New York City. She has been involved in commercial real estate valuation for over 20 years and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. Her clients include major law firms, developers, financial and non-for profit institutions. Over her career, she has been involved in major New York City commercial projects valued in excess of several billion dollars. Notable assignments include the World Trade Center site on behalf of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., GM Building, Empire State Building and Solow Building among others. She is frequently sought after to serve as an expert in arbitration and litigation matters. Ms. Agnese is a certified general appraiser in the State of New York and State of Connecticut and qualified expert witness in both states. In addition, she is a commercial panel member of the American Arbitration Association. Ms. Agnese also holds the MRICS designation of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Ms. Agnese is very active in the Appraisal Institute on a national, regional and local level. She is the Past President of the Metropolitan Chapter of the New York Appraisal Institute and current National board member. She is a frequent lecturer for the Appraisal Institute and Real Estate Board of New York.

  • Received Association of Real Estate Women’s prestigious Founders Award
  • Recognized as Person of the Year by the Metropolitan NY Chapter of the Appraisal Institute
  • Past Chair of the Appraisal Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY)
  • Appointed to the board of REAC, (Real Estate Advisory Coalition), a non-profit established to assist tenants affected by the 9/11 tragedy
  • Named as one of the top 50 Women in New York City Real Estate and featured in Real Estate Weekly
  • Most recently, in Fall of 2009, honored as Appraiser of the Year by the Associated Builders and Owners of New York (ABONY) at their 99th Annual Dinner
