Richard A. Nardi
Counsel
Richard A. Nardi is engaged in the practice of real estate law. He has significant experience in a wide variety of transactions, including property acquisitions and depositions, real estate development and commercial real estate finance. He was appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (SDNY) as a Liquidating Bankruptcy Trustee to sell a large development site in Manhattan. He represents all types of public and private businesses, including major financial institutions and nationally recognized not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Nardi has written many Bar Association reports and forms and has been involved in state legislation initiatives. He has also published a number of articles and chapters of books, including Chapter 3A (Brokers and Brokerage Agreements) in Matthew Bender’s Bergerman and Roth, New York Real Property Forms, 1993, Chapter 2J (Commitment Letters) in Matthew Bender’s Real Estate Financing Treatise, 1999 and several articles in the Lease Negotiation Handbook published by ALI/ABA and AECRE. Mr. Nardi is a frequent lecturer for the ABCNY on all sorts of real estate issues. Nr. Nardi is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Real Property Law Section, for which he has served on the Committee on Real Estate Financing since 1990, the Committee on Attorney Opinion Letters since 1989, and the Condominium and Cooperative Law Committee since 1996. He has also held Chair positions of various NYSBA committees and for committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is included in Who’s Who in American Law. Mr. Nardi is a member of the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate (AECRE) and a member of the Financing Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York, Inc. He is currently Counsel of the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, Inc., for which he has served as President and on the Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Stewart Title Insurance Company and was previously on the Advisory Board of Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. Richard Nardi is also highly involved in community organizations, as he is the former President and founding Board Member of the Byram Hills Education Foundation, Inc., the Secretary and founding Board Member of The Campaign for Cardinal Spellman High School Foundation, Inc. and the former Co-Chairperson of the North Castle Open Space Committee. He is a partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP. Mr. Nardi is located in the New York office. He is the coordinator of all pro bono activities in the New York office. Mr. Nardi holds a B.A. summa cum laude from Fordham College, class of 1976, J.D. cum laude, Commentary Editor of Law Review from the Fordham University School of Law, class of 1979.
