Joining the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York as its newest Board member is Frederick A. McDonald, Jr.
Fred’s banking career spans almost three decades most recently serving as Vice President / Chief Appraiser of Israel Discount Bank of New York (IDB). He has held a variety of real estate positions at several other financial institutions including HSH Nordbank, Caylon, Dime Savings Bank of New York, and Citicorp Real Estate.
Fred is a graduate of New York University – Shack Institute of Real Estate with a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and graduate of Pace University – Lubin School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Fred has acquired extensive experience in the commercial and residential real estate markets, managing various Bank’s internal due diligence and loan administration departments. Responsibilities encompass oversight of internal and external sources including construction management, appraisal, environmental studies, real estate tax and insurance risk management.
Fred regularly negotiates, engages, and reviews CRE Appraisals, Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I), Property Condition Assessments , and Insurance Coverage’s for quality and adherence to policy and regulations.
Professional affiliations include Member of Royal Chartered of Institution Surveyors (MRICS), Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute, Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (New Jersey & New York) and licensed Real Estate Salesperson (New Jersey). Fred has been a guest speaker at the HyperZert Appraisal Conference in Berlin, Germany, at New York University, and Baruch College. He is a New Jersey state real estate appraisal instructor for qualifying and continuing education.
Fred volunteers for the YMCA of Western Monmouth’s year round competitive swim team, the Special Olympics Annual New Jersey Area 6 Swim Meet as a YMCA Level II Official. He was the past Committee Chairman for Cub Scout Pack 137.
